RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO. 277
(KERN RIVER NO. 7 ).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a
change of organization; to wit, the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the hereinafter-described territory under the authority
of Section 35140 of the Government Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
hereby Resolves, Finds, and Determines as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and made a part of this Resolution
as though fully set forth herein.
2. That a map of the territory proposed to be so annexed,
marked Exhibit "B", is attached hereto, and made a part of this
Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That a Plan For Providing Services within the affected
territory of the proposed annexation, in accordance with the provi-
sions of Section 35102 of the Government Code is marked as Exhibit
"C", attached hereto, and made a part hereof as though fully set
forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to
wit, annexation, is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act
of 1977, commencing with Section 35000 of the Government Code of the
State of California, it is requested that proceedings be authorized
for annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reasons for the proposed change of organi-
zation are the property is city-owned and the City wishes to pre-
clude the payment of county taxes on city-owned property.
6. The zoning upon annexation of KERN RIVER NO. 7 will be
essentially the same as presently exists in the county.
7. That the names of the officers of the City of
Bakersfield who are to be furnished with copies of the Executive
Officer's Report and who-are to be given mailed Notice of Hearing,
if any, are:

8. That the appropriate City officials shall file ten
(10) copies of this Resolution, with Exhibits, with the Executive
Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County
at 1110 Twenty-Sixth Street, Bakersfield, California.

Annexation No. 277
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State'of California,
being portions of Sections 16, 17, 19 and 20, of Township 30 South,
Rapge 26 East, M.D.M., and a portion of Section 24 of Township 30
South, Range 25 East, M.D.M., more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the East line of said Section 16, said point
lying S'01°17'14'' W, a distance',.of 380.13 feet from the Northeast
corner of said Section 16, said point also being a point in the
Northerly right of way line of the Kern River Canal, of 100 feet in
width, and being a point in the exterior corporate boundary of the
City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (1) departing said exterior corporate boundary and continuing
S 01°17'14'' W, along said East line, a distance of
lll.65'feet to the Southerly right-of way line of said
Kern River Canal;
THENCE (2) continuing along said Southerly right of way line, the
following 11 courses:
S 64~52'49'' W, a distance of 1814.77 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave to the North, having a radius
of 1050 feet;
THENCE (3) Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle
-'of 15~21'23'', an arc length of 281.42 feet;
THENCE (4) S 80°14'12'' W, a distance of 2851.08 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave to th~ Southeast, having a
radius of 250 feet;
THENCE (S) Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of
34°35'30'', an arc length of 150.93 feet;
'THENCE (6) S 45°38'42'' W, a distance of 153.19 feet to the beginning
of a tangent curve concave to the Northwest, having a radius
of 550 feet;
THENCE (7) Southwesterly along said curve, through a central angle of
09~05'00'', an arc length of 87.19-feet;
THENCE (8) S 54~43'42'' W, a distance of 6773.38 feet to a point in the
West line of said Section 20, said point bears S 01~02'25'' W,
a distance of 648.79 feet from the Northwest corner of said
Section 20;
THENCE (9) continuing S 54°43'42" W, a distance of 460.08 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve concave to the Northwest,
having a radius of 1050 feet;
THENCE (10) Southwesterly along said curve through a central angle of
27°46'00'', an arc length of 508.85 feet;
THENCE (11) S 82°29'42'' W, a distance of 4562.51 feet to a point in the
East line of said Section 24, said point bears S 00°22'38'' E,
a distance of 1627.13 feet from the NortheaSt comer of said
Section 24;
THENCE (12) continuing S 82~29'42'' W, a distance of 1190.34 feet to a
point in said exterior corporate boundary;
THENCE (13) Northerly and Easterly along various courses of said exterior
corporate boundary to the Point of Beginning.
Containing 43.2 Acres, more or less.
