HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 79-78 RESOLUTION NO. 79-78 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS ANNEXATION NO. 258 (MANOR NO. 2) PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 20th day of July, 1978, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described as annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such terri- tory, and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: That a description of the territory designated as Annexa- tion No. 258, (Manor No. 2) is marked Exhibit "A" and attached hereto. That a designation appropriately naming such territory is Manor No. 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Wednesday, the 6th day of September, 1978, at the hour of 8 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the place where any person owning real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Bakersfield and show cause_.why such territory should not be annexed. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 26th day of July, 1978, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN BARTON, CHRISTENSEN, MEDDERS, RATTY, ROGI::RS, ~, STRONG NOES: COUNCILMEN: u,'~,~ ...... CITY C~K~o Clerk of the Council of the City of Bakersfield 1978 of Bakersfield EY ,~ the ~y ~f Bakersfield MANOR NO. 2 Annexation No. 2S8 A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, and being a portion of Sections 8, 17 and 18, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.M. and being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 18; thence along the. West line of said Northeast Quarter, N. 1° 40' 22" W. 306.36 feet to a point on a non-tangent curve concave to the Southwest, having a radius of 500 feet, from which point the radial of said curve bears S. 32° 12' 46" W, said point also being in the exterior Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield; thence, Southeasterly along said curve, through a central ang~ of 18° 28' 49", an arc length of 161.27 feet; thence, 5. 39° 18' 25" E., 400 feet to the True Point of Beginning; THENCE (1) departing from said Corporate Boundary, Northeasterly in a direct line 920 feet, more or less, to intersect the West line of the East 190 feet of the East half of the Northwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 18 with the'North line of the South 320 feet of Northwest Quarter of said Northeast Quarter; THENCE (2) Northeasterly, in a direct line, 770 feet, more or less, to intersect the Hast line of the West 280 feet of the Northeast Quarter of the Northeast ~uarter of said Section 18 with the South line of the North 460 feet of the last named Section; THENCE (S) Northeasterly, in a direct line, 560 feet, more or less, to intersect the West line· of the East 570 feet of said Northeast Quarter of said Section 18 with the South line of the North 270 feet of said Section; THENCE 'THENCE (S) Northeasterly, in a direct line, 1900 feet, more or less, to intersect the Hast line of the Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of said Section 8, with the North line of the South 35 feet of last named Section; Northeasterly, in a direct line, 890 feet, more or less, to intersect the West line of the East 470 feet of said Southwest Quarter of said Section 8 with theN6rth line of the South 100 feet of last.named Section; THENCE (6) Northeasterly, in a direct line, 1280'feet, more or less, to intersect the East line of the West 740 feet of the 'Southeast' Quarter of said Section 8 with ~he North line of the South 520 feet of last named Section; THENCE (7) Southeasterly, in a direct line, 1020 feet, more or less, to intersect the West line of the East 1020 feet of said Section 8 with the North line of the South 50 feet of said Section; THENCE Northeasterly, in a direct lin~ 1100 feet, more or less, to the point of intersection.of. the Ease line of said Section 8 with the North line of the South 580 feet of said Section, said point of intersection being in the exterior Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield; THENCE (9) Southerly and Westerly along variods courses of the last named Corporate Boundary, to the True Point of Beginning.
