RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO. 269
(REAL NO. 2).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a
change of organization; to wit, the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the hereinafter-described territory under the authority
of Section 35140 of the Government Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
hereby Resolves, Finds, and Determines as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and made a part of this Resolution
as though fully set forth herein.
2. That a map of the territory proposed to be so annexed,
marked Exhibit "B", is attached hereto, and made a part of this
Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That a Plan For Providing Services within the affected
territory of the proposed annexation, in accordance'with the provi-
sions of Section 35102 of the Government Code is marked as Exhibit
"C", attached hereto, and made a part hereof as though fully set
forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to
wit, annexation, is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act
of 1977, commencing with Section 35000 of the Government Code of the
State of California, it is requested that proceedings be authorized
for annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization
are that the owners of the affected territory desire to receive, and
in some. cases are already receiving, municipal services from the
City of Bakersfield and the City desires to receive tax revenues
for benefits given and to be given to the territory proposed to be
annexed.
6. The zoning upon annexation of Real No. 2 will be
essentially the same as~presently exists in the county.
7. That the names of the officers of the City of
Bakersfield who are to be furnished with copies of the Executive
Officer's Report and who are to be given mailed Notice of Hearing,
if any, are:

· 8. That the appropriate City officials shall file ten
(10) copies of this Resolution, with Exhibits, with the Executive
Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County
at 1110 Twenty-Sixth Street, Bakersfield, California.

REAL NO. 2
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of
California, being a portion of Section 35, Township 29 South,
Range 27 East, M.D.B. & M., more'particularly described as
follows:
Commencing at the SoUtheast corner of said Section 35; thence
S 89° 54' 00" W, 1383.70 feet along the South line of said
Section to intersect a line 60 feet Westerly of and parallel
to the East line of the West half of the SoutheaSt quarter of
said Section 35; thence along said line N 00°07' 30" W,
60.00 feet, to the Southeast corner of Parcel Map No. 2915
recorded on April 21, 1975 as shown in Parcel Map Book 13 at
Page 106, in the office of said County Recorder; thence along
the South line of said Parcel Map S 89° 54' 00" W, 330.00 feet;
th&nce a~ong the Westerly boundary of said Parcel Map,
N 0000'7' 30".W, 660.15 feet, to the Northwest corner of said
Parcel Map, said corner being in the-existing exterior Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield and the True Point of
Beginning;
THENCE (1) departing from said exterior Corporate Boundary
and' continuing along the Northerly extension of said Westerly
boundary of Parcel Map No. 2915, N 0~ 07' 30" W, 330.00 feet,
more or less, to intersect the Southwest corner of Tract No. 1573
recorded on September 27, 1950 as shown in Book 7 of Maps at
Page 119 in the office of the Kern County Recorder, said Southwest
corner being in said exterior Corporate Boundary of the City
of Bakersfield;
THENCE (2) Easterly and along various courses in last named
exterior Corporate Boundary to the True Point of Beginning.

of city services (i.e., need for additional emergency service personnel or con-
struction of new facilities, etc.)?
This annexation will not affect the level or capacity __.

Would city require any upgrading or change in facilities to serve affected terri-
tory (roads, fire hydrants, mains, etc.)? If so, would city or. residents be
responsible for financing?-
Additional fire hydrants will probably be installed at variou~ ~ositions' ~
throughout the annexed territory. City would be responsible for cost of
hydrants. Extension of sewers to serve individual properties would be
the property owner's responsibility.

Indicate and explain proposed prezoning in area. (List effects on present land
use that would occur as a result of annexation such as maintenance of livestock
on property, etc.)
· There will be no affect upon the existinq land uses within'the existinq
boundaries as the result of this annexation. The zoninq upon annexation
will remain essentially the same (i.e., R-l, R-2, R-3, and commercial).
VII.
List city services that area will directly or indirectly benefit from such as
decrease in fire insurance rate, shorter emergency response time, use of com-
munity facilities, etc.
Public safety services will be more readily provided hy the city
than the county. Fire insurance rates will be less expeDslve. --
