RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO. 268
(REAL NO. 1).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a
change of organization; to wit, the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the hereinafter-described territory under the authority
of Section 35140 of the Government Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
hereby Resolves, Finds, and Determines as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and made a part of this Resolution
as though fully set forth herein.
2. That a map of the territory proposed to be so annexed,
marked Exhibit "B", is attached hereto, and made a part of this
Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That a Plan For Providing Services within the affected
territory of the proposed annexation, in accordance with the provi-
sions of Section 35102 of the Government Code is marked as Exhibit
"C"~ attached hereto, and made a part hereof as though fully set
forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to
wit, annexation,'is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act
of 1977, commencing with Section 35000 of the Government Code of the
State of California, it is requested that proceedings be authorized
for annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reasons for the proposed change of organization
is that the owners of the affected territory desire to receive muni-
cipal services from the City of Bakersfield and the City desires to
receive tax revenues for benefits given and to be given to the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed.
6. The zoning upon annexation of Real No. 1 will be
essentially the same as presently exists in the county, except
for that area zoned "B" (Buffer) in the county will be zoned
Commercial in the City.
7. That the names of the officers of tke City of
Bakersfield who are to be furnished with copies of the Executive
Officer's Report and who are to be given mailed Netice of Hearing,
if any, are:

(10) copies of this Resolution, with Exhibits, with the Executive
Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County
at 1110 Twenty-Sixth Street, Bakersfield, California.

REAL NO. 1
~ parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of
California, being portions of Sections 35 and 36;.-Township 29 South,
Range 27 East, M.D.BI. & M., more particularly described as follows:
Conmencing at the Southeast corner of said Section 35, thence
N 89° 41' 40" W, 1383.74 feet along the South line of said
Section to intersect a line 60 feet Westerly of and parallel
to the East line of the West half of the Southeast quarter of
said Section 35; thence along said line N 00° 17' 21" E,
1380.29 feet to the Southeast corner of Tract No. 1892 filed on
June 27, 1956 in Book 9 of Maps at Page 78; thence along the
South line of said Tract No. 1892, N 89° 42' 39" W, 330.00 feet
to the Southwest corner of said Tract; thence along the Westerly
boundary of said Tract, N 00° 17' 21"E, 660.00'feet to the
Northwest corner of said Tract, said corner being in the existing
exterior Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield and the
True Point'of Beginning;
THENCE (1) departing from .said exterior Corporate Boundary. and
continuing along the Northerly extension of said Westerly
boundary of Tract No. 1892, N 00° 17' 21" E, 970 feet, more or
less, to intersect the Southerly right-of-way line of Garnsey
Lane, of 60 feet in width;
THENCE (2) along said Southerly right-of-way line N 89° 52' 30"E,
205 feet, more or less, to intersect the Southerly extension of
the Westerly line of Lot 2 as shown on the Map of Tract No. 1460
recorded on September 15, 1948 in Book 6 of Maps at Page 147, in
the office of said County Recorder;
THENCE (3) along the Southerly extension of said Westerly line
and along the Westerly lines of Lots 2 through 13, inclusive
thereof, N 00 ° 07' 30" W, 910.7 feet to the Southerly boundary
of Parcel B as shown on Parcel Map No. 532 recorded September 29, 1972
in Parcel Map Book 3 at Page 180, in the office of said County
Recorder;
THENCE (4) S 89° 52' 30" W, 5 feet, to the~Southwest corner of
said ParcelB;
THENCE (5) N 00° 07' 30" W, 6~ feet, to the Northwest corner of
said. Parcel B, said corner being 'in the Southerly right-of-way
line of Chester Lane, of 60 feet in width, and in said exterior
Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (6) Easterly and'along various courses in last named
exterior Corporate Boundary to the True Point of Beginning.

of city services (i.e., need for additional emergency service personnel or con-
struction of new facilities, etc.)?
This annexation will not affect the level or capacity of the city to supply
the neqessary urban services. _

· There will be no affect upon the existin~ land uses within the existin~
boundaries as the result of this annexation. The zonin~ upon annexation
will remain essentially the same. (i.e., R-l, R-2, R-3, and commercial).
VII.
List city services that area will directly or indirectly benefit from such as
decrease in fire insurance rate, shorter emergency. response time, use of com-
munity facilities, etc.
Public safety services'will be more readily provided by the city than
the coupty. Fire insurance rates will be less expensive.
VIII.
