RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION OF THE COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD PROPOSING PROCEEDINGS
FOR ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, IDENTIFIED AS ANNEXATION NO. 266
(BELLE TERRACE NO. 1).
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to propose a
change of organization; to wit, the annexation to the City of
Bakersfield of the hereinafter-described territory under the authority
of Section 35140 of the Government Code of the State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfield
hereby Resolves, Finds, and Determines as follows:
1. That the City of Bakersfield hereby proposes the
annexation to the City of Bakersfield of the territory described
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto, and made a part of this Resolution
as though fully set forth herein.
2. That a map of the territory proposed to be so annexed,
marked Exhibit "B", is attached hereto, and made a part of this
Resolution as though fully set forth herein.
3. That a Plan For Providing Services within the affected
territory of the proposed annexation, in accordance with the provi-
sions of Section 35102 of the Government Code is marked as Exhibit
"C", attached hereto, and made a part hereof as though fully set
forth herein.
4. That this proposal for change of organization, to
wit, annexation, is made pursuant to the Municipal Organization Act
of 1977, commencing with Section 35000 of the Government Code of the
State of California, it is requested that proceedings be authorized
for annexation in accordance therewith.
5. That the reason for the proposed change of organization
is to acquire jurisdiction over the road for better traffic control
and more efficiency in the delivery of public services.
6. That the City is not required to pre-zone the area
described in Exhibit "A" which includes street right-of-way only.
7. That the names of the officers of the City of
Bakersfield who are to be furnished with copies of the Executive
Officer's Report and who are to be given mailed Notice of Hearing,
if any, are:

8. That the appropriate City officials shall file ten
(10) copies of this Resolution, with Exhibits, with the Executive
Officer of the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County
at 1110 Twenty-Sixth Street, Bakersfield, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 14th day of June, 1978, by the following

ANNEXATION NO. 266
BELLE TERRACE NO. 1
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
being a portion of the Northwest Quarter of Section 2, Township 50'
South, Range 27 East, M.D.M., and being more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the west line of said Section 2
with the north line of the south 43 feet of the Northwest Quarter of
said Section, said intersection being on the northerly right-of-way
line of Belle Terrace, said point also being in the existing exterior
Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (1) departing from said exterior Corporate Boundary,
south 89° 19' 30" east, 2571.306 feet, along said north right-of-way
line to the southeast comer of Lot 35 of Tract No. 1087, as said
tract is shoWn on a map recorded March 30, 1939 in Book 4 of Maps,
at page 144, Records of said Kern County, said point also intersects
the westerly right-of-way line of the Stine Canal;
Thence (2) as per said Tract No. 1087, south 20° 00' 00" west,
.45.57 feet to intersect said existing Corporate Boundary and south
line of said Northwest Quarter;
Thence (3) westerly and northerly along said Corporate Boundary
to the Point of Beginning.
Containing 2.53 acres, more or less.

What effects, if any, would annexation of this territory have ~l existing level
of city services (i.e., need for additional emergency service personnel or con-
struction of new facilities, etc.)? The level of service would be unaffected
by annexing this territory.
IV.
W6uld city require any upgrading or change in facilities to serve affected terri-
tory (roads, fire hydrants, mains, etc.)? If so, would city o.~ residents be
responsible for financing? None will be required.
V. Indicate and exp'lain existing zoning in affected territory.
Th~ zoning will be unaffected by the annexation of this territory.

Indicate and explain proposed prezoning in area. (List effects on present land
use that would occur as a result of annexation such as maintenance of livestock
on property, etc.) N.A. The street that is being annexed has no affect
upon zoning either in the county or city. No prezoning is required.
