A RESOLUTION DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL
KERN CITY ANNEXATION ELECTION AND RECORDING
UNFAVORABLE VOTE.
WHEREAS, a special annexation election was held on
March 7, 1978, at Kern City at Precincts Kern City and Kern City
2, Portion 1, as set out in proceedings for the Kern City Annexa-
tion Election; and
WHEREAS, as authorized by the City Council, the County
'Clerk of the County of Kern canvassed the returns of the said
annexation election and certified the results of the canvass of
said returns to the Council of the City of Bakersfield on March 28,
1978.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the special annexation election was held and
conducted on March 7, 1978, in the time, form and manner as pre-
scribed by law, as Measure D on the ballot.
2. That the whole number of votes cast on the proposi-
tion in the Kern City territory proposed to be annexed was 849, that
there were 159 affirmative votes cast and 656 negative votes cast.
3. That a majority of the votes were therefore not cast
in favor of annexation and the measure was disapproved.
4. That the Certificate of County Clerk dated March 13,
1978, is attached hereto and made a part ofI this resolution.

CERTIFICATE OF COUNTY CLERK
I hereby certify that on March 9, 1978, I canvassed the returns of the
Annexation Election held in the area proposed to be annexed to the City of
Bakersfield, on March 7, 1978 and the attached statement shows the whole
number of votes cast in said area for and against the annexation measure,
and the number of votes given at each precinct for and against said measure;
and the totals shown for and against said measure are full, true and correct.
