A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION OF DRAKE STREET EAST OF BLOCK
469-D AND NORTH OF 24TH STREET, IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 4th day of January, 1978, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 927, declaring its intention to order
the vacation of a portion of Drake Street east of Block 469-D and
north of 24th Street, in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 1st day of February, 1978, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That a portion of Drake Street east of Block 469-D
and north of 24th Street, in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, more particularly described as follows, is
unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
PARCEL 1:
The westerly 11.25 feet of Drake Street (formerly
"D" Street), of 82.5 feet in width, lying between
the easterly prolongations of the north line and
south line of Lot 20 in Block 469-D, as said street
and block are shown on a map entitled '~ap of the
City of Bakersfield" recorded November 21, 1898,
in Book 1 of-Maps at Pages 13 and 14 in the office
of the County Recorder.
Reserving the west 5 feet of said westerly 11.25
feet for purposes of a public utilities easement.
Containing .032 acres, more or less.
PARCEL 2:
The westerly 11.25 feet of Drake Street (formerly
"D" Street), lying between the easterly prolonga-
tion of the south line of Lot 1 in Block 469-D,
as said street and block are shown on a map entitled
'~ap of the City of Bakersfield" recorded November
21, 1898, in Book 1 of Maps at Pages 13 and 14 in
the office of the County Recorder, and the south
line of Lot 1 of Tract No. 1387 recorded March 26,
1948, in Book 6 of Maps at Page 104 in the office
of the County Recorder.
Reserving the west 5 feet of said westerly 11.25
feet for purposes of a public utilities easement.
Containing ·042 acres, more or less.
2. That said portion of Drake Street east of Block 469-D
and north of 24th Street, be and the same are hereby closed up,
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and
in conformity with the reservations and exceptions contained in
and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 927. Refer-
ence to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further
particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 1st day of February, 1978, by the follow-
ing vote:
