RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE USE OF TAX INCRE~$NT
FUNDS FOR INSTALLATION AND CONSTRUCTION OF
STORAGE FACILITIES FOR THE BAKERSFIELD CONVENTION
CENTER (CIVIC AUDITORIUM).
WHEREAS, Section 33679 of the California Health and Safety
Code requires a public hearing to be held by the City Council prior
to the Redevelopment Agency committing incremental tax revenues for
the purpose of paying all or part of the cost of the installation
and construction of any publicly owned building, other than parking
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Bakersfield
proposes to construct two (2) storage facility buildings, to service
the Convention Center (Civic Auditorium), and to be located on the
site on which the Convention Center is located; and
WHEREAS, the proposed buildings will replace existing
storage buildings which are in a deteriorated condition and will
improve the quality of the area; and
WHEREAS, on September 15, 1982, a duly noticed hearing was
held pursuant to the requirements of Section 33679 of the California
Health and Safety Code; and
WHEREAS, a summary report prepared pursuant to Section
33679 of the California Health and Safety Code has been prepared and
has been available for public inspection and copy prior to the
aforesaid public hearing; and
WHEREAS, said summary report is incorporated herein and
attached hereto, as Exhibit "A".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows: .
1. That the report entitled Summary Pursuant to
Section 33679 of the California Community Redevelopment Law Convention
Center Storage Facilities in the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment
Project, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is hereby adopted; and
