A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONCURRING IN THE COUNTY OF
KERN SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the Nejedly-Z'berg Dills Solid Waste Management
and Resource Recovery Act of 1972 (hereafter referred to as the
Act) requires each county, in cooperation with affected local
jurisdictions, to prepare a comprehensive, coordinated solid
waste management plan; and
WHEREAS, said Act also requires that such plan shall be
consistent with state policy and any appropriate regional or sub-
regional solid waste management plan; and
WHEREAS, said Act also requires that the county solid
waste management plan shall be subject to the approval by a
majority of the cities within the county which contain a majority
of the population of the incorporated area of the county; and
WHEREAS, the County of Kern has prepared a plan for
solid waste management in conformance with the Act and on August
12, 1982 submitted said plan to this Council for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Bakersfield has reviewed said plan and hereby specifi-
cally stipulates concurrence in the following: (a) the objectives
set forth in the plan, (b) the method and organization for imple-
mentation of the programs contained in the plan, (c) the procedures
for financing the recommended solid waste management program, and
(d) the role identified in the plan for the City in implementing
this cooperative effort for manangement of solid waste in an
economical and environmentally acceptable manner.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk t.ransmit-
forthwith certified copies of this Resolution to the Kern County
Board of Supervisors and to the Kern County Director of Public
Works.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day of September, 1982, by
the following vote:
