A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCILOF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ESTABLISHING
ANNEXATION PROCESSING FEES.
WHEREAS, the financial constraints placed on the City of
Bakersfield by Proposition 13 and Proposition 4 make it necessary
for the City to recover the cost of special services rendered by
it; and
WHEREAS, the processing of annexation requests i~ a
function necessitated by those who wish territory outside the
City to become incorporated parts of the City; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned service is to the direct benefit
of applicants; and
WHEREAS, benefits most significantly accrue to applicants
for annexation of uninhabited territory; and
WHEREAS, the benefits and desires to annex inhabited (twelve
voters or more) territory differ among the residents thereof and
are difficult to assess; and
WHEREAS, this City Council has reviewed the costs of pro-
cessing annexation requests at a regular public meeting held
the 31st day of March, 1982; and
WHEREAS, this Council considered all comments relevant to
the establishment of the fee schedule herein for processing
annexations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield that the following fee schedule for processing
of annexations of uninhabited territory is hereby adopted:

1The charge is dependent upon size due
to the State Board of Equalization processing
fee schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that each application shall be ac-
companied by a fee as specified herein according to the area re-
quested for annexation by the applicant(s).
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 12th day of May, 1982, by the follow-
ing vote:
