A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING SENATE BILL 1700.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
has always been concerned about the dissemination of pornographic
and obscene matter in the City; and
WHEREAS, cable television can become a vehicle for
transmitting pornography and obscene matter into the home; and
WHEREAS, pornography and obscene matter displayed on
television becomes readily available to the children of our
community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Bakersfield urges the legislators of the State of California
to support Senate Bill 1700.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of April, 1982, by
the following vote:
