A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD TO INCLUDE SELF-SERVICE LAUNDRIES
OR LAUNDERETTES IN THE LIST OF PERMITTED USES
IN THE C-1 (LIMITED COMMERCIAL) ZONE.
WHEREAS, a request to permit the operation of self-
service laundries or launderettes as a permitted use in the C-1
(Limited Commercial) Zone was received and considered by the
Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.22.026 of the Bakersfield Municipal
Code does not list self-service laundries or launderettes as a
permitted use in the C-1 Zone; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered the
request and, by its Resolution Noo 22-82 , has found that the
use requested is similar to the uses listed in said Section
17.22.026 as permitted uses in the C-1 Zone and has determined
that self-service laundries or launderettes are not more obnoxious
or detrimental to the welfare of the community than the uses
specifically mentioned, which finding and determination have,
upon review, been confirmed by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
2. That upon the basis of the above determinations and
upon the authority of Section 17.08.040 of the Municipal Code,
the following use shall be considered as a permitted use in the
C-1 Zone in the City of Bakersfield:
Self-service laundries or launderettes.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 14th day of April, 1982, by
the following vote:
