A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE
ELECTORS OF THE CITY AN ADVISORY MEASURE, TO
BE HELD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 8, 1982.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield proposes
to submit an advisory measure in the manner set forth in Chapter
7, Division 5, Section 5353 of the Elections Code of the State of
California, at the regular election of June 8, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the measure so proposed to be submitted to the
electors of the City is as follows:

Shall the City of Bakersfield pursue all
appropriate means to attempt to remove property
owners in the City of Bakersfield from the
Kern County Water Agency Zone of Benefit No.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the above-stated City of Bakersfield Measure
to advise the Council of the City of Bakersfield is hereby submitted
for placement on the ballot in proper form to be used at the
election hereby called.
2. That the above-stated City of Bakersfield Measure
is a substantive issue upon which the voters in the City of
Bakersfield should be allowed to voice their opinion.
3. That a Special Municipal Advisory Election is
hereby called to be held in the City of Bakersfield on Tuesday,
the 8th day of June, 1982, for the purpose of submitting to the
electors of said City the foregoing City of Bakersfield Advisory
Measure B as aforesaid.
4. That said Advisory Election is hereby consolidated
with the Special Municipal Charter Amendment Election heretofore
called for June 8, 1982.
5. That it is the intent of this Council to file with
the Board of Supervisors of Kern County a request for an order
consolidating the Special Municipal Advisory Election (hereby
called for June 8, 1982 and consolidated with said Charter
Amendment Election) with the State of California Direct Primary
Election to be held on the same date in accordance with Section
23302 of the Elections Code.
6. That the polls shall be open in all precincts in
the City from 7:00 o'clock A.M. to 8:00 o'clock P.M.
7. That the City Clerk shall give all notices and
perform all advertising as required by law and perform, or cause
to be performed, all the duties and functions required by law.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 3d day of February, 1982, by
the following vote:
