RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CERTIFYING THAT IT HAS REVIEWED
AND CONSIDERED THE iNFORMATION CONTAINED IN
THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT FOR THE WEST
BAKERSFIELD SEWER STUDY, PREPARED FOR KERN
COUNTY COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS AS LEAD AGENCY,
PRIOR TO APPROVING INTERIM FACILITY IMPROVE-
MENTS AT WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT NO. 3
AND MAIN INTERCEPTOR THERETO, AND ADOPTING
SAID STUDY AND EIR.
WHEREAS, on October 17, 1980, this Council received from
the Kern County Council of Governments Resolution No. 80-44 of said
Council of Governments certifying the environmental impact report
and associated documents prepared for said Council of Governments,
as lead agency, on the West Bakersfield Sewer Study (hereinafter
referred to as the "Study EIR"); and
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield, as a responsible
agency, and this Council as its decision-making body, in anticipa-
tion of consideration and approval of plans and specifications for
interim facility improvements at Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 3
(improvements in aeration system and reconstruction of headworks)
and construction of the main interceptor sewer line for the Stockdale
area to Plant No. 3, are required by Section 15064(b) of the State
EIR Guidelines to certify that the decision-making body has reviewed
and considered the information contained in the Study EIR; and
WHEREAS, this Council has so reviewed and considered such
information.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council hereby
accepts and adopts the West Bakersfield Sewer Study and Study EIR;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council certifies that it
has reviewed and considered the information contained in the Study
EIR prior-to approving interim facility improvements at WasteWater
Treatment Plant No. 3.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 17th day of December, 1980,
by the following vote:
