The past litter control program in the City of Bakersfield has been

ment. Funding for this program has been from the City's General
Tax Revenue.
For the past two years State Litter Cleanup Funds have been used
to expand out program to include litter removal on median islands
and right-of-ways of major streets and cleanup of recreational
areas after major events. State Funds have also been used by the
Police Department to increase their litter enforcement throughout
the City and on i~ajor streets leading to the Sanitary Landfill.
