.RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL.OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING AND ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE CIRCULATION ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELD
METROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN.
WHEREAS,. the Circulation Element of the Bakersfield
Metropolitan Area General Plan isrequired to be reviewed periodi-
cally and such review has shown the need for certain amendments
thereto, as set forth herein; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakersfield
has duly set, noticed and conducted a public hearing with regard to
said amendments in the manner required by law and has considered
all matters brought before it; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best interest of the
City to enhance present and future vehicle traffic movement-in the
a~eas affected and the proposed amendments are consistent with the
existing and proposed land uses in said. areas as the same are set
forth in the Land Use Element of the said General Plan; and
WHEREAS, it appears that there will be no significant
detrimental environmental impact from the proposed amendments and
that a Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact should be
approved as prepared and posted; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended the
approval of a Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact and the
approval and adoption of the proposed amendments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The City Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby
approves and adopts a Negative Declaration of Environmental Impact
as prepared and posted regarding the proposed amendment to the
Circulation Element of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General
Plan set forth below.
2. The City Council hereby further approves and adopts
the following specific changes in the streets and highways portion
of the Circulation Element of the said General Plan:
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof hel'd on the 10th day of September, 1980,
by the following vote:

All located in Northeast Bakersfield (Rio
Bravo Area), Southeast of the Intersection
of State Highway 178 and Alfred Harrell
Highway.
