A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 37-77
RESPECTING COMMERCIAL RENTAL RATES AND TICKET
SERVICE FOR THE CIVIC AUDITORIUM.
WHEREAS, Section 5.32.110 of the Municipal Code provides
that the City Council shall, by resolution, establish and/or change
the minimum commercial rental rates for the use of the Civic Auditorium;
and
WHEREAS, the current commercial rates for the use of the
Civic Auditorium and the current ticket service charges in the Civic
Auditorium are contained in Resolution No. 37-77, adopted on May 16,
1977; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to change such commercial rates
and ticket service charges, effective January 1, 1982, by this resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION I.
Minimum Commercial Rental Rates
That the minimum commercial rental rates for the use of
the Civic Auditorium shall be as follows:

Above rates apply to a 24-hour rental period (frcm
midnight to midnight). '\.
*This rate applies when stage is used for
rehearsals, and such use, in the opinion of the Auditorium
Manager, does not conflict with other scheduled events.
Percentage Opt ion
Percentage option on all rentals will be 10%
of the gross sales after tax, if greater than
minimum rental specified in Item 1 above.
Trade Shows
(a) Arena - All Day Rental Only $750 or 5 cents
per square foot (per day), whichever is
greater.
(b) Move In - Move Out: Any days required for
ingress or egress will be made available at
one-half (1/2) the applicable flat rate by
previous arrangement with the approval by the
Auditorium Manager.
Single-Agent Sales Attractions
Arena - All Day Rental Only
$750 or 5 cents per square foot (per day), which-
ever is greater.
Meeting Rooms
Venus and Mars Rooms $100
Pluto and Saturn Rooms 70
All others 50
Arena Ice Charges
$250 charge to make ice for one-day event (rink),
plus $250 per day for more than one-day event.
(This is in addition to regular building rental
rate. )
Rent to Include:
(a) Normal heat, light, water and air conditioning.
(b) Normal building cleaning and maintenance.
(c) Ticket booth for duration of progam.
Overtime Use
A fee of $250 per hour, or any portion thereof,
shall be charged for each hour of overtime beyond
that specified in the Auditorium Use Permit.

Extra Personnel
The permittee shall make arrangements for
personnel necessary to the operation of the program
directly with the Auditorium Manager. These personnel
will be provided at the prevailing wage scale on
file in the Auditorium office.
Equipment and Special Fees
Any extraordinary charges not specifically
stated in this schedule, the City ordinances or
on file in the Auditorium, shall be determined
by the Auditorium Manager.
Special Rates
The Auditorium Manager may, at his discretion,
and subject to approval by the City Manager,
negotiate for special rates when in the best
interest of the Civic Auditorium and the City of
Bakers field.
Parking Lot
$1.00 per car.
Flat fee - $250 per event day for free parking.
SECTION II.
Ticket Service Charges
That the charges respecting ticket service in the Civic
Auditorium shall be as follows:
1. That when requested, the City shall, by means of
Civic Auditorium personnel, sell advance tickets for a minimum
fee of One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) for a six-day period (which
includes the day of the event), said $150 fee to include the
services of one ticket seller. Additional personnel furnished by
the City on special request to be compensated to the City at the
rate of Six Dollars ($6.00) per hour per ticket seller.
2. That in the event that a sponsor or prc~oter of an
event held at the Civic Auditorium elects not to use the advance
ticket sales service of the Civic Auditorium, the box office at
the Civic Auditorium may be rented at the rate of Six Dollars
($6.00) per hour, with a minimum charge of Twenty-Five Dollars
($25.00) per day, for a period in advance of the event, operational
hours and days to be determined by the Auditorium Manager. The
rental fee in such case shall not include box office personnel.
On the day of the event, there shall be no charge for use of the
box office.
3. That all tickets sold at the Auditorium box office
for events not held at the Civic Auditorium will be charged 5% of
gross sales revenue received by the Auditorium box office, except
for tickets sold through Ticketron, which charges shall be as
established by agreement between Ticketron and the City of
Bakersfield.
4. That regular box office hours, when operated under
the provisions of this resolution, will be maintained between 9
A.M. and 5 P.M., Mondays through Saturdays, excluding City holidays,
and that on the date of the premoter's event, the box office will
remain open continuously from 9 A.M. until one hour after the
opening time of the event.
SECTION III.
Ticketron
That the Civic Auditorium shall be authorized to operate
Ticketron effective January 1, 1982. The charges respecting
Ticketron ticket service in the Civic Auditorium shall be as
established in the Agreement between Ticketron and the City of
Bakersfield.
SECTION IV.
That this Resolution supercedes Resolution No. 37-77
and shall be effective on and after January 1, 1982.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 2d day of December, 1981, by
