A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF A
PORTION OF 19TH STREET, BETWEEN BEALE
AVENUE AND OWENS STREET, IN THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of October, 1981, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 952 declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of 19th Street, between Beale
Avenue and Owens Street, in the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for
hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed
vacation, which said hearing was held on the 18th day of November,
1981, after notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That a portion of 19th Street, between Beale
Avenue and Owens Street, in the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California, more particularly described in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, is unnecessary for
present or prospective public street purposes.
2. That a portion of 19th Street, between Beale
Avenue and Owens Street, be and the same is hereby closed up,
vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and
in conformity with the reservations and exceptions contained in
and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 952. Reference
to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the
office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 18th day of November, 1981, by
the following vote:

VACATION OF'A PORTION OF EAST 19TH STREET-
All that portion of East 19th Street, formerly "G" Street, adjacent to Blocks
106 and 127 in the City of'Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California,
being a portiod of the former.To~ of Kern, now within the City of Bakersfield,
as shown.on that map filed on January 12, 1889 in Map Book 1 at pages 1S and
16, in the Office of the Kern.County Recorder, also being a portion of Section
29, Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B. ~ M., and more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 9 of Block 127 as shown on said map
of The Town of Kern, said corner also being a point on' the southerly right of
way line of said Eastl9th.Street, and also being the Point of B~ginning for.
this description; ..
THENCE (1) Northeasterly along the extension of the West line of the last named
Lot 9 a distance of 40 feet to a point on ,the center'line of said East 19th
Street;
.THENCE (23 Eas'~er!y and in a direct line to a point on the Northerly right of
Way 'line of said East 19th Street,-said point being the Southwest corner of
Lot 27 of said Block 106;
THENCE (33 Southe~sterly.along the last n~mea right of way line a distance of
1SO feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 32 of said Block 106, said corner being
a-point on the Westerly right of way line of Owens Street;
TItENCE.(4) Sduthwesterly along the extension of the East line of the last named
.Lot' 32 and right of. way line a distance of 80 feet to the Northeast corner of
Lot 1 of said Block 127, said corner being a.point on the Southerly right of
way line .o~ said East 19th Street;
.THENCE; (S) Northweiterly along the last named right of way line a distance of
-225 feet'to the Point of Beginning.
