A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD MAKING CERTAIN ASSURANCES TO THE
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION,
DESIGNATING A LEAD AGENCY FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF AN INTER-CITY TERMINAL, AND AGREEING TO
ACT AS CONDUIT FOR DISBURSEMENT OF LOCAL FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Director of District No. 6 of the California
Department of Transportation (hereinafter referred to as "CalTrans")
has requested that the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopt
a resolution to supplement the application of the City submitted
in 1980 for funding by the State of California of an inter-city
terminal facility; and
WHEREAS, this Council believes the proposed inter-
city terminal facility to be in the best interests of the
general public, and finds that the three declarations set forth
hereinbelow are reasonable and consistent with the best interests
of the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council
of the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the site selected for the inter-city terminal
shall be located in the area of the present AMTRAK Station,
designated as 2A-1 on Figure 2 of the SB 620 Project Application
by the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency and Golden Empire
Transit District, dated September, 1980, and based upon representation
made to the City of Bakersfield by the Kern County Council of
Governments, that any required environmental documentation on
the specific site for the inter-city terminal will be completed
by December 1, 1981.
2. CalTrans is designated as lead agency for
construction of the inter-city terminal.
3. The City of Bakersfield accepts responsibility
for, and shall act as conduit for, disbursement of any local
support funds.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 23d day of September, 1981,
by the following vote:
