A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD TO INCLUDE FENCE
AND AWNING BUSINESS IN THE LIST OF
USES PERMITTED BY CONDITIONAL USE
PERMIT IN THE C-2 (COMMERCIAL) ZONE
WHEREAS, a request to permit the operation of a Fence
and Awning Business as a conditional use in the C-2 (Commercial)
Zone was received and considered by the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.27.026 of the Municipal Code does
not list such Fence and Awning Business in the C-2 Zone as a use
permitted subject to Conditional Use Permit; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered the
request and, by its Resolution No. 30-81, has found that the use
requested is similar to some of the uses listed in said Section
17.27,026 as permitted uses by Conditional Use Permit in the C-2
Zone, and has determined that a Fence and Awning Business is not
more obnoxious or detrimental to the welfare of the community
than the uses specifically mentioned, which finding and determination
have, upon review, been confirmed by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the above recitals are true and correct.
2. That upon the basis of the above determinations and
upon the authority of Section 17.52.040 of the Municipal Code,
the following use, as conditioned, shall be considered as a use
permitted by Conditional Use Permit in the C-2 Zone in the City
of Bakersfield:

Fence and Awning shops; provided
that same shall be conducted wholly
within a building; provided further
that said uses shall not include
outside storage unless such storage
'is screened from public view by a
fence enclosure not less than six
(6) feet in height and composed of
masonry or chainlink with slats.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a-
regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of May, 1981, by the
following vote:
