A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD SUPPORTING THE CONCEPT OF THE
ANI-YUN-WIYA SOCIETY'S EFFORTS TO DEVELOP
INTER'TRIBAL CEREMONIAL GROUNDS.
WHEREAS, the Ani-Yun-Wiya Society proposes to develop
Inter-Tribal Ceremonial Grounds; and
WHEREAS, such a development will allow the American
Indians to preserve their heritage and culture; and
WHEREAS, the development is proposed to be a self-
supporting project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the
City of Bakersfield supports the concept of the Ani-Yun-Wiya
Society's efforts to develop Inter-Tribal Ceremonial Grounds and
urges the Ani-Yun-Wiya Society to work with the City of Bakersfield
to find a location that will best serve the needs of the Society
and the residents of the Bakersfield area.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the 'Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof hel'd on the 20th day of May, 1981, by the
following vote:
