HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 38-54RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERS- FIELD, ORDERING THE VACATION OF THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 120 AND THE SOUTH ONE-HALF OF A PORTION OF 25th STREET, IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIEID, CALIFORNIA. WHEREAS, on the 25rd day of August, 1954, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vaca- tion Act of 1941," being Division. 9, Part 3, of the Streets and High- ways Code Of the State of California, passed and adopted its Resolu- tion of Intention No. 708, declaring its intention to orde.r the vaca- tion of the Alley in Block 120 and the South one-half of a portion of 25th Street, in the City of Bakersfield, California, and WHEREAS, said Council did fix a' time and place for hearing all persons.interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation, which said hearing was held on the 20th day of September, 1954, after notices were duly posted as required by law, and WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter, does hereby find and resolve as foll.ows: 1. That the Alley. and the South one-half of a portion of 25th Street in the City of Bakersfie. ld,'de.scribed under Parcels A and B as follows, are unnecessary for present or prospective public street purpose s: PARCEL A All of .the alley of 20 feet width running .northerly and southerly in Block 120, City of Bakersfield, lying between the southerly line of 25th street and the northerly line of 24th Street as said alley, said Block .120, said 25th Street and said 24th Street are shown on .the Map of the City olf Bakersfield, recorded November 25, 1898 in Book l, pages 13 and 14 of Maps, records of the County recorder of Kern County, California.' ~ PAR CE L B All of the southerly one-half (1~2) of 25th Street running easterly and westerly and lying between the northerly pro- longation of the easterly line of D Street and northerly prolongation of the westerly line of E Street, as said streetvs are shown and delineated on said ~qap of the City of Bakers- field. 10 2, That said alley and the South one-half of a portion of 25th Street be and the same are hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes, subject to and. in conformity with said Resolution of Intention No, V08, Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars. 3, The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Reso- lution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California. ..... 000 .....
