HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 31-54A RESOEUTION OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD 'CHANGING THE NAME OF "OAK PARK" TO "'SAUNDERS PARK", AND RESCINDING.RESOLUTION N0. 8-84. WEEAS, the City of Bakersfield is the owner of ~certain real property located on the north side of Palm Street, between Oak Street and Real Road, and WEEAS, the purchase of said property by the City of Bakers- field resulted from the desire and urgence of Councilman Lowell W~. Saunders, deceased, that said property be obtained for park purposes, 'and WEEAS, by Resolution No~ 8-8·4 duly passed by this Council, said property was named "Oak Park", and WHEREAS, this Council is desirous of perpetuating the memory of Lowell W. Sannders for his civic and philanthropic interest in the development of our community.· NOW, TEEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the COuncil of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: That the real property owned by the City 0f Bakersfield now known as Oak Park and located on the north side of'Palm Street, be- tween Oak Street and Real Road designated for park purposes, be known as "SAUNDERS PARK"o BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 8-84 be and the same is hereby rescinded. -, -ooo--- HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, a~ a regular meeting thereof held on the 19th day of July, 1954, by the following vote: ~ity ~ k o~f the Council of the City of Bakersfield.
