:A RESOLUTION ORDERING .rl~-fE WORK IN PUBLIC
!]~tlPROVE~ENT DISTRICT N0. 703 IN THE CITY
OF BA~RSF]XLD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY Tli~ COUNCIL OF Th]E CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
%'/HEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the
find day of November, 1983, pass its Resolution of intention No. 703
to order the work described therein to be done and improvement to
be made in said City; and
WHEREAS, said Resolution of Intention was duly and legally
published twice in~ediately after the passage of said Resolution,
as required by law, in the Bakersfield Californian, a daily news-
paper published and circulated in said City, and designated by said
Council for that purpose; and
WhEKEAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention
No. 703, headed "NOTICE OF I~:IPROVE~Ei~'T" we~e duly and legally posted
along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement and in
front of the property liable to be assessed, and along all the open
streets within such district, at not more than 300 feet apart, in
the time, form and manner as required by law; and
~MEREAS, said posting was fully completed more than ten days
before .the date set for hearing protests and objections; and
V~iEREAS, notice of the adoption of said Resolution of Intention
was given by mail in the manner required by law; and
VfffEF~AS, the time set for hearing of objections in said Resolu-
tio'n~ Of Intention was more than f~fte.en.s_.nd less than_.. sixty da~s from
the date of the passage and adoption of said Resolution; and
~EEREAS, said City Council having duly received and considered
evidence oral and documentary concerning I the 'jurisdictional facts in
this proceeding and concerning' the necessity for the contemplated
work and improvement and the benefits to be derived therefrom, and
said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to order the pro-
posed improvement.
IT IS B]EREBY.!R~SOLVED, that the' public interest, Convenience and
necessity require the work described in Resolution of Intention No.
V05 to be done, and the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby
orders the work herein described to be done. Said work shall be done
in accordance with the plan. and specifications therefor, heretofore
approved by this Council. For further particulars reference is here-
by made to said Resolution'of Intention No. 705, plan, and specifica-
tions, all of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield~is hereby directed to
post a notice referring to the specifications therefor, conspicuously
for. five days, on or near the door of ~the Council Chambers of the
Council of the City of Bakersfield, inviting sealed proposals or bids
for doing the work herein ordered. The Clerk is also directed to
publish a notice inviting such proposals and referring to the speci-
fications so posted or on file, twice in the Bakersfield Californian,
a daily newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby
designated for that purpose.
The ~ day of December, 1955, is hereby designated and fixed
as the day on which up to the hour of 5 o~clock P. N., the said
proposals or bids shall be received, and all bids so received shall
be opened by the said Council in open session at 8 o~clOck P. Ivi.,
of the said day, and the said notices shall' so specify.

I HEP,~,BY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and-adopted by the CoUncil of the~ City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 23rd ~day of November, 1983; by the
