RESOLUTION OF PROPOSED !Ni\YEXATION OF
UNINHABITED TERRITORY ARD SETTING TI~E
FOR HEARING TBEREON.
WHERE&S, a petition was filed ~.~ith the Uouncil of the City
_,.-- day of July, 19~3, requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed and in-
cluded.within the incorporated limits of the City of Bakersfield, and
WI{EREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less
than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and
representing not less than one-fourth (]-/4) of the assessed value
of such territory according to the last preceding equalized assess-
ment roll of the County of Kern.
NOW, TEREFORE, in Compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Cotuncil of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
~ That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the Uity of Bakersfield, being portions of Sections 9, 16, 17,
18, 19 and 20, T. 29 S., R. 28 E., M. D. B. & M., are more specifically
described as follows:
Beginning at the S. E. corner of Union Avenue and Bernard
Street as described in City Ordinance No. 786, New Series,
adopted June 21, 1948 by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
State of California, and filed for record September 7, 1948,
Official Records of Kern County; thence from said point of
beginning on and along the corporate bounda~y line of said
City of Bakersfield N. 0° 13' 17" E. a dist~mce of 40.00 feet
to the southerly line of the N. I../. 1/4 of Section 20, T. 29
R. 28 E., M. D. B. & M.; thence N. o E. on and along

boundary line of said City of Bakersfield, being also the
easterly right of way line of said Union Avenue, as said right
of way line is delineated on Map of Tract No. 1278, a distance
of 6~76.61 feet, to the N. W. corner of said Tract No. 1278,
said Tract No. 1278 being of Record in Book 5 of Maps, pages
19~ and 196, Official Records of Kern County, said last
named N. W. corner of TraCt No. 1278 being also the,.S.E.
corner of said Union Avenue and Columbus Street as described
in ~City Ordinance No. 757, New Series, .adopted September
1947, and filed for record October 27, 1947, Official Records
of Kern County; thence northerly, from last named southeast
corner on and along the easterly right of way line of Union
Avenue to a point 30.00 feet distant southerly, from the
northerly line of the S. W. 1/4 of the S. ~,T. lY4 of Section
17, T. 29 S., R. 28 E., M. D. B. & M., said last mentioned
point, being a point in the corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield, and as described in said Ordinance No. 757 N.S., said
last named point being also described as the intersection of
the easterly right of way line of Union Avenue and the southerly
right. of way line of Monte Vista Drive, in Ordinance No. 941 N.S.,

intersection formed by the northerly right of way line of
Monte Vista Drive and. the southeasterly right of way line of
Panorama Drive, as delineated on Map of Tract No.. 1609, the
last mentioned point being also on a circular curve concave
to the southesost and froP~ which point the radial center

and the southeasterly right of way line of Panorama Drive, being
also on and along a circular curve of 945.00 feet radius a

945.00 feet distant, as delineated on Map of said Tract No.
1609, filed for Record in Book 7 of Maps, pages 184, 185 and

last named point of tangency, N.. 56o 2' 10" E. on and along
the corporate boundary line of tb~ City of Bakersfield as
described in said Ordinance No. 941 N.S., and.the southeasterly

of Loma Linda Drive; thence N. 56° 42' E. on and along the
southeasterly right of way line of Panorama Drive and the
prolongation thereof, as delineated on Map of Tract No. 1071,
filed for Record in Book 4 of Maps, pages 128, 129 and 130,
Official Records of Kern County, a distanc. e of 306.486 feet,
to a point, which is the intersection of the said southeasterly
right of way line of Panorama Drive and the northerly line of
the N. E. 1~4 of S. W- 1/4 of Section 17, T. 29 S.~ R. 28 E.;
thence N. 56o 42' E. to a point of intersection of said south-
easterly right of way line and prolongation thereof of Panorama
Drive with the center line of Alta Vista Drive as delineated
on Map of Tract No. 1480, filed for Record in Book 6 of Maps,
pages 186 and 187, Official Records of Kern County, a distance
of 1199-57 feet; thence N. 56° 42' E. on and along said
southeasterly right of way line of Panorama Drive end pro-
longation thereof as delineated on Map of Tract No. 1267
filed for Record in Book 5 of Maps, page 128, Official Records
of Kern County a distance of 569.90 feet, to a point of
curve, from which the radial center of said curve bears S.
33° 18' E. 1945.00 feet distant; thence on and along Said
curve of 1945.00 feet radius, concave to the southeast a
distance of 409.62 feet, as shown on Map of said Tract No.
1267, to a point of tangency, and from which the radial
center of last named curve bears S. 21° 14' E. 1945.00 feet

southeast.fly right of way line of Panorama Drive Extension,
and with basis of bearing, as above described, as the easterly
line of the S. E. 1/4 of Section9, T. 29 S-, 3. 28 E., and
more particularly described as follows: S. 55° 14' 01" W. a
distance of 543.005 feet, to a point of curve, and from which
point the radial center bears 'N. 3~° ~5' 59" W. 3055.00 feet

That a designation appropriately identifying such territory
is: COLLEGE HEIGHTS.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, the 1Cth day of August,
19~3, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers in
the Police Department Building, 1620 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield,
California, is the time when and the place where any person owning
real property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and
having any objections to the proposed annexation may appear before
the Council of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such terri-
tory should not be so annexed.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th day of '~.uly, 1953, by the follow-
