RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF .THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, ORDERING THE VAOATION
OF A PORTION OF V STRUT IN. THE CITY"
OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, on the 24th day of November,. 1952, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield', pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being DiVision 9 of 'the Streets and Highways
Code. of' the State ~of California, passed and adopted its Resolution
of Intention No. 697, declaring' its intention to order the vacation
of a portion of V Street in the City of Bakersfield, California, and'~
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a'time and place ·for hearing
all persons interested in or objecting to said ·proposed .vacation,
which said hearing was held on the .15th day of·December, 1952, after1
noticeS'were duly posted as required by law, and
'~+ WHEREAS,. said Co~mctl afterl hearing all the evidence offered
by persons interested in said'Closing and a~teP~considering the same,
does' hereby find and resolve as follows: . ~ '
-1. That although said portion of V Street-appesrs on certain
maps of the~ICity as a dedicated street, said portion of said ·V Street
has never in fact been opened, improved, Surfaced Or used by the
public as a street.
· · 2. That the owners and tenants of the property adjoining
Said Portion of V Street have consistently .used ~a private roadway
adjoining said portion of V Street to tbs south·.
· ·3. That by the abandonment of said portion of V Street the
right. Of ingress and egress ofI~the abutting land owners and tenants

~'o That the following described portion of V Street in the
City of Bakersfield, 'as hereinabove mentioned, is .unnecessary for

present or prospective public' street purposes:
'~ Beginning at the point formed by the intersection
of the easterly right of way line of V. Street with
the northerly right of way line of 23rd Street, as
said streets are shown and delineated on that cer-
tain map entitled "Map of the City of Bakersfield,
,California," filed in the office of the County Re-
corder of Kern County', California, .on Pages 13 and
8 t along the prolongation west-

erly of the Said northerly right of way line of
23rd Street to its point. of intersection with the
northerly right of way line ~of U. S. Highway 99,
also, known as Golden $ State Avenue, as said ~Avenue
· was established by Decree of Condemnation had in
Case No. 25454, in .the Superior Court~.o~' the'State
of California, in and for the County of Kern, a
certified copy of which Decree was recorded Janu-
ary 17, 1933, in Book~A~Sl,-Page 467, of Official
Records, in the office of the County Recorder of
said Kern COunty; thence westerly along said north-
erly right of way line of Golden State Avenue to
its point of+ intersSction .with the easterly line
of the Kern Island Canal, as said Canal is shown
and delineated on.aforesaid' "Map of the City of
Bakersfie ld;!''~ thence northerly along s aid easterly
li~e of said Kern Island Canal to its point. of inter-
section with the southerly right of way llne of ~24th
Street, as said Street is-shown and delineated on ·
aforesaid "Map of ~the City'of Bakersfield;" thence' '~
easterly along last said southerly right of way ~
:~ line of 24th Street to its point of. intersection
with the aforesaid easterly right of way line of V
Street; 'thence southerly along last described line
to the point of ~beginning, ~
5, That said portion of V1 Street be .and the same is hereby
vacated for public street purposes, subject to and in conformity
~ith the reservations and exceptions contained in and contemplated
by said Resolution of Intention No. 697, +Reference to Said Resolution
of Intention is hereby made for further particulars,
6, The City Clerk shall Certify to the passage of this
ResolUtion, and shall cause a certified copy of this Resolution,
attested by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in

the office of the County Recorder of the County of~. Kern, California.
