WHEREAS, immediately following a severe earthquake
shock and resulting death and damage in the City of Bakers-
field, the Director of Civil Defense and Disaster did on
the 22nd day of August, 1952, proclaim certain areas of the
City of Bakersfield in a state of disaster and thereafter,
on the 23rd day of August, 1952, modified said proclamation,
and
WHEREAS, since said dates the emergency created
by said disaster has abated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of
the City of Bakersfield that the aforesaid proclamation
declaring a state of disaster be and the same is hereby
terminate d.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of October,
1952, by the following vote:
