HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 40-52RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK NO. ~d--g~L · RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF BAKErSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, ORDERIN~ WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 696 The City Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, pursuant to the provisions of the "improvement Act of 1911" , being Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES RESOLVE as follows: That the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter mentioned to be done and, therefore, the said City Council hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to wit: The construction of vitrified clay pipe sanitary sewers, vitrified clay pipe house connection sewers, vitrified clay pipe Wye branches, vitrified clay pipe lamp-holes, pre-cast cement concrete manholes, steel casing under Southern Pacific Railroad right of way, and appurtenant work in connection therewith, in Planz Road and other streets and alleys, known as Public Improvement District No. 696 (Planz Park Annex), all as more particularly desdribed in Resolution of Intention No. 696, passed and adopted by the City Council of said City on the 23rd day of June, 1952, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 696 and to the plans, profiles and drawings, consisting of 7 sheets, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Bakersfield, and to the specifications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, profiles, - i - drawings and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council of s aid City are incorporated heroin and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said worko Said City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was ~ in the opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit and the said City Council has made the expenses of said work chargeable upon a district. For the particular description of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 696° Said City Council has determined and declared that serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "Improvement Act of 1911" , being Part 5, Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. Said City Council has determined and declared in said Resolution of Intention No. 696 that the City of Bakersfield will pay out of its General Fund the sum of $20,00Oo00 toward the costs and expenses of'said improvement. The liability and obligation to pay such sum, as provided in said Resolution of Intention, shall accrue and become fixed upon the d~e of confirmation of the assessment by the City Council of s aid City for the above mentioned improvement. All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911", Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code~ The Clerk of said City is hereby directed to post conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the chamber door of the City Council, in the manner and form required by said Code, a Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids for doing the work herein ordered, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice in the "Bakersfield Californian", a daily newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby designated by the said City Council for that purpose, a notice inviting such proposals or bids for doing the said work and referring to the specifications on file.
