RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF
BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE CONSOLIDATION OF A
~SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF SAID CITY.WITH
THE PRIMARY STATE ELECTION TO BE HELD JUNE 3,
1952, AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
0F THE COUNTY OF KERN TO ORDER THE CONSOLIDATION
OF SAiD ELECTIONS.
'WHEREAS, this Council, on the 31st day of March, 1952, passed
and adopted a resolution calling a special mua~icipal election to
be held in the City of Bakersfield on the .3rd day of June, 1952,
for the purpose of submitting to the voter's a proposition to mend
the Charter of said City.
NOW, TEEFORE, the Council of the City of Bakersfieid,
California, does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE and ORDER as follows:
Sectionrl: That said proposition t0 amend the Charter 'of
the City of Bakersfield shall be placed on the ballot to. be used
at said special municipal election in .the following words and
figures, to wit:
BAKERSFIELD CHARTER AMENDMENT: Shall Section 43
of the-Charter of the City of Bakersfield be
amended to authorize-the ·Council of said City to
waive the residential requirements of employees
in classifications requiring professional or
technical qualifications, and authorizing the
temporary appointment of such employees when no
qualified persons are available within said City?
Section 2: That said special municipal election be and it
is hereby ordered to be consolidated with the primary .state election
to Ibe held June *3, 1952, and. the Board of Supervisors of the County
pf Ke r~n.~is hereby requested to ord_er .sUch consolidation in accordance
with the provisions of this resolution.
Section 3: That within the City of Bakersfield the precincts,

polling places, and officers of election for said special municipal
election shall be the same as those provided for said primary state
election within said city. The Board of Supervisors of the County
of Kern is hereby authorized to canvass the returns of said special
municipal election, and shall certify the result of the canvass of
said returns to the Council of the City of Bakersfield, who shall
thereupon declare the results thereof.
Section 4: That the Clerk of the .Council is hereby directed
to transmit to the Clerk of said BOard of supervisors, a certified
copy of this resolution, as required by Section lO0~l.1 of the
Elections Code.

· I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the COuncil of the City 'of Bakersfield at a regular-
meeting thereof held on the 31st day of March, 19~2, by the follow-
ing vote:
