DISTiI~ICT N0. 690~ OF SAID CITY, PURSUANT
TO RESOLUTION OF ~INTENTION ADOPTED BY SAID
COUNCIL ON THE ~th DAY OF FEBRUARY , 198~.
~IEREAS, the COuncil of the City of Bakersfield, California,
did in open session on the 1Vth d~y of March, 1986, open,· e~amine
and publicly declare all sealed proposals or bids for the construction
of t he following. work to be done and improvements to be made in said
City, to wit:
The improvement of that certain public easement thirty
feet in width, extending northerly and southerly paral-
lel with and equidistant from the westerly right of way
line of 0akdale Drive and the easterly right of way line
of Wetherly Drive, from the northerly boundary line of
"Tract No. 1397" to the southerly boundary.line of "Tract
No. 1397" by the construction of a 30-inch Portland Cement
concrete irrigation pipe line in and along the center line
of said public easement to replace the open irrigation
canal now being maintained in and along said public ease-
ment, excepting from said construction a60-foot section
or segment across Verde Street. Said 30-foot public ease-
ment, said right of way lines of 0akdale Drive and Wetherly
Drive, said boundary lines of "Tract No 1397" and said
Verde Street, are shoE and delineated on the map of "Tract
No. 1397" filed for record in the officSIofthe County
,
Recorder of Kern County, C lifornia, on pages 67 and 68
in Book 6 of Maps on the 2~th day of September, 194V.
All of said work is to be done in accordance With the plan
approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
on the 4th day of February, 1952, by Resolution No. 10-52, which
plan consists of two (2) sheets, and is entitled "Plan for Public
Improvement District No. 690." Said plan is on file in the office
of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and,is hereby referred
to and by such reference made a part and portion hereof, and in this
connection said plan also shows the exact location of the a~o're·said
work and improvement.
~4EREAS, the said Council·has determined and decided that
the contemplated work and improvement h~reinbef0re menti6~'ed W~S,
in the opinion of said Councils, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and the said Council has made the costs and expenses
of said work chargeable upon a
Bakersfield will contribute the sum of ~3,150.00. For a particular
-description of the said district, reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention.
All of the her. in proposed work shall be done in pursuance
of the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division V of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
NOW, ~ERE'FORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Council hereby
rejects all of' the said proposals of.bids except t he hereinafter
mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for said work and improve-
ment to the lowest, regular responsible bidder, to wit: to
C. r0. ji~RPRR ~s_ _L, A.~_SEWER COMPANY___, at the prices named
in their bid for said work on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Bakersfield, California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of
award of contract to be published in the manner and form required
by law in two entire issues of the Bakersfield Californian, a daily
newspaper, printed, published and of general circulation in the
City of Bakersfield, California, and hereby[ designated for said
purpose by said Council. ~'

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the f~oregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Baker'sfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the ~ day of March, 195~,
