ORDER ASCERTAINING~'~AND DETERMINING THE PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES TO BE PAID IN THE MATTER OF "PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 690" IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALI- 'FORNIA :'~, WHEREAS, the Council of. the City of Bakersfield, California, did, on the 4th day of February, 1952, .adopt Resolution of Inten- tion No. 690., for the construction of certain improvements in Public Improvement District. No. 690, and WHEREAS, pursuant to~ the provisions of the Labor Code of tha State 'of California, it is necessary that the. Council of the City of Bakersfield, California, ascertain and determine the general prevailing rate of wages on public works, and by the provisions of said Code make it mandatory upon the awarding body of any public contract where the said body subsequently calls for bids for any public improvement, to ascertain and determine the prevailing rate of per diem wages in the locality in which the work is to be per- formed, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic needed to exe- cute the contract, and also the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft or type of workman. Any classification omitted here in not less than . . . . 1.75 2.05 a.o5 1.93 1.80 2.18 2.30 2.38 2.5o 1.67 1.67 The general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work for each craft and type of workman in said public work is as follows: CARPENTERS - Double time for all overtime, except for Pile D~iver Men - Bridge or Dock Carpenters on tide work where the overtime rate will be time and one-half; providing that when men are called .to work outside of the regular work day they will be guaranteed six (6) hours pay at the overtime rate. CEMENT-FINISHERS - Time and one-half for the first three hours a~ter the regularly constituted straight time shift, and all other overtime shall be double time. WATCHMEN - Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day and for the sixth consecutive day worked; and double~ time for the seventh consecutive day worked. Watchmen shall also receive time and one-half for holidays except where a holiday falls on the 7th consecutive day worked, which shall be double time. IRON WORKERS - Double time for all overtime. LABORERS - Time and one-half except Sundays and Holidays which are double time. OPERATING ENGINEERS - Time' and~One-half for all' overtime except Sundays and Holidays ·which are .dguble ti~+~e. Where Op_erating Engin. eers, during any one calendar day, are working overtime on the same unit of a project on which another craft is working overtime 'at the double time rate, then the Operating Engineers on such unit of work shall also be paid at the double time ratS. k A unit of the project means any single building, facility, utility, or any other single structure which is independent of any other unit of the project. The operation of a crushing plant. for stock. pile and the servicing, repairing, and maintenance of equipment of a project shall be at time and one-half, except in the following two instances: 1. Sundays and Holidays. 2. Where the equipment operator is repairing his equipment on a unit of the project where double time is being paid in that calendar day. When the Operating Enl gineer is working on a project as an integral part of a crew where another craft is receiving overtime pay by virtue of a holiday not specified in the Master Labor Agreement, .~hen the Operating Engineer shall receive the same overtime rate as the other craft. TEAMSTERS - Time and one-hal~f for all overtime. ASBESTOS WORKERS, LINOLEUM !WORKERS, P~INTERS, ROOFERS and SHEET METAL WORKERS, including foremen in the aforementioned trades, shall be paid .time and one-half for all overtim work, except for Sundays and Holidays, which shall be double time. BOILERMAKERS, B.OILERMAKER HELPER, BRICKLAYERS, BRICKLAYER TENDERS, CARPENTERS, .ELECTRICIANS, GLAZIERS, HOD CARRIERS, IRON WORKERS, LATHERS, MILLWRIGHTS, PLASTERERS, PLUMBERS and STEAMFITTERS, in- cluding'foremen in the aforementioned trades, shall be paid double time for all overtime work, including Sundays and Holidays. The rates of wages, including overtime, Holiday and Sunday rates,' above specified a~e subject to the effect, if applicable hereto, of; executive orders of the President of the United States and to any modification thereof and to any and all lawful orders ~ the President or any other authorized Federal officer or agency, insof at as the same may be applicable to any contract. In case of any inconsistency, the rates fixed by any such applicable Federal order, whether higher or lower, shall control. In accords_nce with the provisions of. Section 1777-5 of the LaborC0de, as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the Iregulations of the California Apprenticeship Council, properly indentured apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the work. / / .
