W~S, the State of California under Chapter 4y, Statutes of 1944, (4th Extra Session) hs,s appropriated funds for al- lotment by the ~Director of Finsace to provide financial assistance to Local-Agencies defined therein as coonties, cities or cities and counties for the purpose of defraying not to exceed one-half of the cost of preparing engineering field surveys, engineering or architec- tural designs, gmd w,o, rking and ~letailed drawings and specifications (hereinafter called 'Plans") required for postwar public works pro- jects described as "specific projects" in said Act; and 2 WHYS, the City of Bakersfield, hereins.ffter designated as · "Local Agency" desires to apply to the Director of Finance and/or the State Allocation Board, as the ca~e may be, for an allot- ment of the State's share of the estimated cost of preparing the com- pleted plans hereinafter mentioned and there has been prepar'ed and presented to this legislative Body for .consideration an amended appli- cat ion for such purpose; and 3. .~.krHEREAS, Local Agency has provided, or will make available upon approval of the aforementioned application, sufficient funds to prepare the completed plans herein mentioned; 4. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Local Agency submit the aforesaid amended application to the Director of Finance and/or the State Allocation Board, as the case may be, requesting al- lotment of Twenty Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy and y3/100 Dollars ($20~8yO.y3), being not more than one-half the cost of preparing said completed plans, or for such amount as may be a. pproved by the Director of Finsrice and/or the State Allocation Board, (said allotment to be ' used for the purpose of defraying the cost of preparing said completed plans required) for a specific project to be undertaken by local agency and described as Sewage Treatment Works· 5. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the extimated cost of prepar- ing such plans is Fifty-one Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty- five and y3/lO0 Dollars ($51,955-Y3) and that Local Agency hs~s made provision for paying one-half or more of the cost of preparing such plsns; 6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of this ap- plication, J. HOLFELDER, City Engineer, Room 1y, City Hall, Bakersfield, California, be and he hereby is designated as the author- ized agent of Local Agency and is hereby authorized and directed to sign the above mentioned application on behalf of the Local .agency and submit the same to the Director and/or State Allocation Board, together with a certified statement of the estimated cost of preparing such plans and such other information as may be required; and said author- ized agent is further authorized and directed 'as the representative of Local Agency to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrange- ments, including submission to the Director of Finance of applica- tions for reim'oursement, which may be necessary to secure reimburse- ment for the State's siva. re of the expenditures made in preparing said completed plans. y.
