RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIEID, CALIFORNIA,
ORDERING AND DIRECTING THAT THE CON-
STRUCTION OF SANITARY SEV~RS AND
APEIRTENANT WORK IN PUBLIC IMPROVEN~NT
DISTRICT NO. 689 (EL CAMINO PARK ANNEX)
IN SAID CITY, AS DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION
OF INTENTION NO. 689 ADOPEED NOVE~B_ER 13, 1951,
BE; DO~E UNDER THE DIRECTION AND SUPERVISION
OF ENGINEER OF WORK HERETOFORE APPOINTED.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield, California
did on the 13th day of November, 1951 pass and adopt its Resolution of
Intention No. 689 for the construction of sanitary sewers and appurtenant
work in connection therewith in South Chester Avenue and other streets and
alleys, known as Public Improvement District No. 689 (El Camino Park Annex);
and
WHEREAS, the said City Council, having heretofore on the 24th
day of September, 1951 adopted Resolution No. 51-1951 wherein R. E. White
was appointed Engineer of Work in place of the City Engineer, pursuant t o
the provisions of Section 5701 of the "Improvement Act of 1911", being
Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
said resolution providing among other things that the Engineer of Work
be directed to supervise and inspect the construction, together with the
estimating and preparing of the assessment on the various parcels of
property within the assessment district, as described in said Resolution
of Intention,
NOW, THEREFCRE, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield~
California, does hereby resolve, determine and direct as follows:.
SECTION 1. That, pursuant to the provisions of Section 5283
of the "improvement Act of 1911" , being Division VII of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, the work of the improvement
hereinbefore mentioned shall be done under the direction of the Engineer

I MEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 10th day of December, 1951, by the
following vote:

of Work for said City, and that the materials used shall be in compliance
with the specifications and be to the satisfaction of said Engineer of
Work instead of the Superintendent of Streets of said City, and that the
Superintendent of Streets is hereby directed to include a provision to
that effect in the contract which he shall hereafter make, covering the
sa id proposed improvement.
SECTION 2. That, pursuant to the provision of Section 8284
of said "Improvement Act of 1911", said City Council hereby determines
and declares that the assessment hereafter to be made in the proceedings
shall be made and signed by the Engineer of Work instead of the Superin-
tendent of Streets, provided, however, that when said assessment is
confirmed by the City Council of said City, said assessment together with
the diagram and warrant attached thereto shall be recorded by the
Superintendent of Streets in his office,
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield,
