WHEREAS, Chief of Police Horace V. Grayson has been
in the service of the City since October 4, 1926~ and
WHEREAS, his record with the City has been both long
and distinguished, and under his leadership as Chief of Police
since _august 16, 194~, the Bakersfield Police Department has
grown and developed into a very efficient organization, serving
as an example to the police departments of other cities, and
WHEREAS, Chief Grayson completed twenty-five years of
service with the City of Bakersfield on October 4, 19~l, and
the City Council wishes to take this opportunity to publicly
recognize his loyal and efficient service Go the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Council hereby
expresses its profound appreciation of the long, honest and
faithful service of Chief Horace V. Grayson and wisEes to go
on record as highly commending him for such service on this
occasion,

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regu-
lar meeting thereof held on the 8th day of October, 19~l, by the
