WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the ~,~- day of ~A~ugust, 1951, requesting that certain uninhabited territory thereinc"described be annexed to and included within the incorporated limit s! ~,~0~ the City of Bakersfield, and 'WHEREKS, said petition waa. signed by the owners of one-fourth of the land, by area, and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessmentl.!roI1 of the ~ICounty of Kern; and WHEREAS, the territory described in said petition is contigu- ous to the City of Bakersfield. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexa- tion of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, being Title 4, Division 2, Part 2, Chapter l, Article 5 of 'the Government Code of the State of. California, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: That the boundaries of the territory so' proposed to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield, are more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the point formed by the intersection of the easterly boundary line of Lot 3 in Block C of Greene' s Tract, as said Lot and Block are shown and delineated on tb~ "Map of Greene,s Tract in Kern County, Cal.," filed for record in the office of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, on the 9th day of November, 1905, on Page 97, in Book I of Maps, with the westerly extension of the southerly right of way line of 2nd Street, as said 2nd Street is shown end delineated on the "Map of Goode Tract Bakers- field, California," filed'for. record in the office of afore- said County' Recorder on the 2nd day of May, 1910, on Page 144, in Book I of Maps, aforesaid point of intersection being a point in a corporate boundary line' of the City of Bakersfield, California, thence westerly along the aforesaid-we~sterly ex- tension of the southerly.right of way. line of 2nd Street, that certain portion of which, insof at as it appertains to this certain description, is a southerly corporate boundary line of the City of Bakersfield, to its point of intersection with the Westerly boundary line of the easterly (1/2) one-half of the easterly (1/2) ones-half of aforesaid Lot 3 in Block C; thence southerly along sa~d westerly boundary line of said easterly (1/2)' one 'hsif'~ of the easterly (1/2) one-half of said Lot 3 to the southerI~ boundary line of said Lot 3 in Block C; thence easterly ~al'ong said southerly boundary line to the easterly boundary line .o~yl said Lot 3 in Block C; thence northerly along the e aSt~l'y boundary line of said Lot 3 in Block C to the point of"~eginning, containing 0.615 acres of land more or less~ That a designation appropriately identifying such territory is: GREENE' S TRACT NOI~qI''. - ~. · , ~,. ~'~ at 'the hour of eight o,clock P.M', in ths Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the place where the City Council will hear protests made by any person owning real property within. the 'aforesaid territory.
