RESOLUTION 0F PROPOSED ANNEXATION
OF U~I~BITED TERRITORY A~D SET-
TING TIE FOR HEARING THEREON.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City
of Bakersfield on the 1st ~i'~!lof June , 1951, requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
included within the incorporated limits of the City of Bakersfield,
and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of one-fourth
of the land, by area, and by assessed value as shown on the last
equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern; and
WHEREAS, the territory. described in said petition is contigu-
ous to the City of Bakersfield.
NOW, THERF~'ORE, in compliance with the. provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, being Title 4,
Division 2, Part 2, Chapter l, Article 5 of the Government Code of
the State of California, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the City of Bakersfield, are' more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point which lies 30 feet southerly of and 30
feet westerly of the southeast corner of the northwest 1/4
of the southwest 1/4 of Section 17, Township 29 South, Range
28 East, M. D. B. & M., measured at right angles to the south-
erly and easterly boundary lines respectively of said north-
west 1/4 of southwest 1/4 of said Section 17, said point
being a point in a corporate boundary of the City of Bakers-
field, California, and also the point formed by the intersection
of the westerly right of way line of County. Road No. lO.0!, of
30 feet'width, being the~westerly 30 feet 0~l a 60 foot roadway,
as same was declared a Public Highway by action of the Board
of Supervisors of the County of Kern, State of California, on
March 29, 1937, as evidenced by the minutes of ssi d Board of
Supervisors recorded on Page 461 of Minute Book No. 39 of
said Board of Supervisors, on file in the office of the County
Clerk of the aforesaid County of Kern, and as the easterly 30

feet of said ' 60 foot roadway is shown and delineated and
designated as Loma Lin~a~!Drive on map.of Tract No. 1044, filed
fop record in the 0ffi6~'of the County Recorder of said County
of Kernlon February If27, 1937, on Pages 77 to 79 in Book 4 of
Naps, the full 60 foot roadway being known as Loma Linda Drive,
with the southerly right of~lway line of County Road No. 1326
of 60 foot width, known also as Monte Vista Drive, as same was
declared a Public Highway by action of the aforesaid Board of
Supervisors on Ma~ch 4,.~ 1946, as evidenced by the minutes of
said Board of Superviso~..s recorded on Page 127 of Minute Book
No. 59 of ss[ d Board of Supervisors on file in the office of
the aforesaid County Clerk of the County of Kern; thence
westerly along said southerly right of way line of said Monte
Vista Drive, which said line is a portion of the ~corporate
boundar~y of the City of Bakersfield, a distance of 300 feet;
thence northerly along a line distant 330 feet westerly from,
and parallel with the easterl~ boundary line of aforesaid
northwest 1/4 of southwest i of said Section 17 a distance
of 260 feet; thence easterly along a line 230 feet northerly
from and parallel with the southerly boundary line of aforesaid
northwest 1/~ of southwest 1/4 of ssi d Section 17, a distance
of 300 feet to a point in the westerly right of way line of
aforesaid Loma Linda Drive; thence southerly along last described
line a distance of '260 feet to the point of beginning, contain'
ing 1,377 acres of land, more or less.
That a designation appropriately identifying such territory
is: BETH EL ADDITION.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Monday, June 25
,1951,
at the hour of eight o,clock P.M., in .the Council Chambers in the City
Hall in the City of Bakersfield, California, is the time when and
the place where the City Council' will hear protests madeby any
person owning real property 'within the aforesaid territory. All
protests must be filed as required by the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939.

I EREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the council of the city of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 4th~ day of June, 1951, by the follow-
ing vote:
