A RESOLUTION 0RDERY. NG 'THE WORK IN PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT N0. 686 IN THE CITY
OF BPjGERSFIELD, ICALIFORNIA'.
WHEREAS, the Council 6f the City of Bakersfield did on the
23rd day of April, 19~l, pass its ReSolution of Intention No. 686
to order the ·work described therein to be done and improvement to
be made in said City; and .
WEREAS, said Resolution of Intention was duly and legally
published twice immediately after the passage of said Resolution,
as required by law, in the Bakersfield Californian, a daily news-
paper published and circulated in. said City, and designated by
said Council for that purpose; and
WHEREAS, notices of the passage of said Resolution of Inten-
tion No. 686, headed "NOTICE OF ZMPROVE]4ENT" were duly and legally
posted along the lines of said contemplated work and improvement
and in front of the property liable to be assessed, and along all
the open streets ~Tithin such district, at not more, than 300 feet
apart, in the time, form and manner as required by law; and
WHEREAS, said posting was fully completed more than ten days
before the date .set for hearing protests and objections; and
~WHEREAS, notice of the adoption of said Resolution of Inten-
tion was given by mail in the manner required by law; and

Resolution of Intention was more than fifteen and less than sixty
days from the date of the passage and adoption of ssi d Resolution; and
'WHEREAS, said City Council having duly received and considered
evidence oral and doct~Jnentary concerning the-Jurisdictional facts in
this oroceedings and concerning the necessity for the contemplated
work and improvement and the benefits to be derived therefrom,
and said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to order
the proposed improvement,
NOW, TEEFORE, BE IT RESOL~ED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield that the publiC ~interest and convenience require
the work described inl Resolution of Intention' No. 686 to be done,
end the Council of said City hereby orders the ~ork therein
described to be done. Said work shall be done in accordance with
the plan and specifications therefor, heretofore s~proved by this
Council. For further par~ilCUl~rs reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of intention No. 686, plan and specifications, all of
which are on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield is hereby directed
to post a notice referring to the specifications therefor, conspicu-
ously for five days, on or near the door of the Council Chambers
of the Council of the City of Bakersfield, inviting sealed proposals
or bids' for doing ~the work here in ordered. The Clerk is also
directed to publish a notice inviting such proposals and referring
to the. specifications so posted or on file, twice in the Bakersfield
Californian, a daily newspaper published and circulated in said City
end hereby designated for that purpose.
The 28th day of May, 19%1, is hereby designated and fixed
as the day on which up t0 the h6ur of ~ o'clock P.M., tb~ said
proposals =or bids shall be received, and all bids so received shall
be opened by the= said Council in open session at 8 o'clock
of the said day, and the said notices shall so specify.

I NE~REBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and. adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at la
regular meelting thereof held on the 14th day of May, 19~l, by the
following vote:
