~,PPlnRTENANCES.
WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield made and entered into a
contract dated February 21, 195.1, with the ~-~onderly Construction
Company whereby said Company agreed· to erect and construct for'
said City certain sewage treatment works and appurtenances
described in said contract end the specifications made a part
there of, and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid sewage treatment works-and appurt-
enances are desigaqed to serve property located in the City of
Bakersfield. and in adjacent unincorporated territory,-and failure
to complete the construction of the same within the iFanediate
future would result in the continued deprivation of sewage dis-
posal service to areas seriously in need of such service, end
WHEREAS, the construction of ssid sewage treatment works
and appurtenances will require the use of certain critical materials,
the allocation of which is presently tunder the jurisdiction of the
National ·Production Authority, and.
TJHEREAS, the kinds and estimated quantities of the aforesaid
critical materials are shown on that certain document consisting
of six (6) mimeographed pages in all, attached heret0, marked
"Exhibit A" and made a part hereof.
NOW, TI~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the
City of Bakersfield does hereby request the National Production
Authority -to give special consideration to the needs of the City.
of Bakersfield for the aforesaid critical materials and to grant
to said Cityl and/or Yonderly Construction Company necessary
allotments and/or priorities to obtain said materials, in order
that they may proceed with the construction of the aforesaid
sewage treatment works and appurtenances.
BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to each
of the following four (4) divisions of the Department of Commerce,
National Production Authority, 'Washington, D. C.:
Steel Division
Nickel Division
Aluminum Division
Copper Division, Order M 12
