RESOLUTION OF THE!~COUNCIL OF TE CITY OF
BA~RSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, AW~tDING TEE CON-
TRACT IN THE MATTER OF "PUBLIC IMPROVE~NT
DISTRICT NO. 683" OF SAID CITY, PURSUANT
TO RESOLUTION OF INTENTION AD01~TED BY SAID
COUNCIL ON THE 26th day of December, 1950.
WHEREAS, the Council of-the City of Bakersfield, California,
did in open session on the 13th day of' Fe.b~uary, 1951, open,
examine and publicly declare all sealed proposals or bids for the
construction of the following work to be done and improvements to
be made in said City, to wit:
The construction of a 6 inch sanitary sewer of vitrified clay
pipe, in, along and 5 f~eet northerly from and parallel with the
southerly line of Brundage "ane and extending easterly from a lamphole
to be constructed at a point 32 feet easterly from the northerly
extension of the westerly line of Tract No. 1061, to a manhole to be
constructed in the City's 30 inch outfall main sewer at a point
distant l0 feet westerly from the northerly extension of the easterly
line of Tract No. 1061.
All of said work. is to be done in accordance with the plan
and profile approved by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield,
and adopted by said Council on~ the 26th day of December, 1950, said
plan. and profile being entitled "Plan for Public improvement District
No. 683" which plan and' profile is on file in the office of the City
Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, and is hereby referred to and by
such reference made ~a part and portion hereof, and in this connection
said plan and ~profile also shows 'the exact location of the aforesaid
work and l-improvement, and
WHEREAS, the said Council has determined and decided that
the contemplated.· work and improvement hereinbefore mentioned was,
in the opinion of said Council, of more than local or ordinary public
benefit, and the said Council has made the costs and expenses of
said work~ chargeable upon a district.· For a particular description
of the said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution
of Intention.
All of the work herein ordered sha].l be done and carried
through in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of
California, designated the '.'Improvement Act of 1911" 'being Division 7
of the Streets and Highways Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said Council hereby rejects
all of the said proposals of bids except the hereinafter mentioned,
and hereby awards the contract '~fgr said work. and improvement to the
lowest, regular responsible bidder, to wit.: to ~:JILLI~ H. SCHALLOCK
and GLANVILLE PLUMBING COMPAi~Z, at the prices named in their bid
for said work on file in the office of the City ·Clerk of the City
of Bakersfield, California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to cause a notice of award
to be published in the manner and form required by law in two entire
issues of the Bakersfield Californian, 'a daily newspaper, printed,
published and of general circulation in' the City of Bakersfield,
California, and hereby ~esignated for said purpose by said Council.
