HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 05A-51RESOLUTION NO. 9 ~__ NO. 5A-51 WHEREAS, the State of California under Chapter 47, Statutes of 19!~!, (4th Extra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the Director of Finance to provide financial assistance to Local Agencies defined therein as counties~ cities or cities.. and counties for the purpose of defraying not to exceed one-half the cost of pre- paring engineering field surveys, engineering or architectural designs, and working and detailed drawings and specifications (herein- after called "Plans") required for postwar public works projects described as "specific projects" in said Act; and WHEREAS, said Act has been amended so that the State Alloca- tion Board has succeeded to and been vested with all the duties, powers, purposes, responsibilities and jurisdiction of the former Postwar Public Works Review Board, and ~REREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, by Resolution No. 70. adopted on March ll, 1946, authorized and directed J. Holfelder, City Engineer, to make application to the Director of Finance and/or the Postwar Public Works Review Board, requesting allotment of Five Thousand Seven Hundred Forty-Four Dollars ($5,744-00) for the pur- pose of defraying the cost of preparing completed plans for a specific project to be undertaken by this City and described as CHESTER AVENUE UErDERPASS; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, by Resolution No. 75, adopted on March 3, 1947, authorized and directed j. Holfelder, City Engineer, to make application to the Director of Finance and/or the Postwar Public Works Review Board~ requesting allotment of Two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($2,2~0.00), for the purpose of defraying the cost of preparing complet~ed plans for a specific pro- ject to be undertaken by this City and described as SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT ADDITION; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, by Resolution No. 78 adopted on April 7, 1947, authorized and directed J. Holfelder, · City Engineer, to make application to the Director of Finance and/or the Postwar Public Works Review Board, requesting allotment of Four Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Dollars ($4,320.00) for the purpose of defraying the cost of preparing completed plans for a specific project to be undertaken by this City and described as TRUXTUN AVENUE 0VERCROSSING; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said authority and directions, said J. Holfelder has made application for allotments of the aforementioned amounts, and said amounts have been allotted~ and. WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield has not proceeded ~ith the preparation of .completed plans for the aforementioned specific pro- jects and does not now contemplate~"so proceeding~ and desires-that said moneys previously allotted be made available for preparation of completed plans for another specific project, for v~hich applica- tion will be made in the immediate future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES~ LVED that the City of Bakersfield does hereby request the Director of Finance and/or the State Al- location Board, as the case may be, to cancel the allotment of the aforementioned sums for the purposes allotted, and does hereby designate J. Holfelder, City Engineer~ Room 17, City Hall, Bakers- field, California, as the authorized agent of the City of Bakers- field, for the purposes of this request, and does hereby authorize and direct said J. Holfelder to conduct all negotiations and con- clude all a~rangements, which may be necessary to secure the cancel- lation of the aforementioned three allotments. ......... o0o .........
