RESOLUTION
Location of City Hall
NO. 34-50
WHEREAS, a public controversy has arisen over whether
the location of the site of the City Hall should be changed
from the present site to a site in Central Park, and whether
the City should plan and construct a building for housing
the City Police Department on the present City Hall site or on
some other site;
AND, WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission is set up
and designed and required by law to study and report upon
matters of such character;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED that the matter of the
location of the City Hall and of the proposed Police Department
Building and of other buildings for the purpose of housing said
Department be, and the same is, hereby referred to the Planning
Commission with instructions to study such problems and report
thereon to the City in order that the public generally may be
informed regarding such matters prior to the March municipal
election at which time the Council has directed that such
matters be submitted to theI electors.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 27th day of November, 1950, by the
following vote:
