V~IERE~S~ the City of Bakersfield has constructed~ operates
and maintains a sewage collection and disposal system in said
city which is situated so as to enable said system to receive
and dispose of the sewage from certain buildings and facilities.
now under construction by the County of Mern and the Bakersfield
City School District outside the limits of said City on certain
property owned by said County and said School District, which
is bounded by King, 0wnns~ Potomac 'Streets and California Avenue,
as per Nap of. Grayson .Addition filed December ll, 1913, in Nap
Book 3~ page l, Kern County Records, in Section 32, Township
29 South~ Range 28 East~ A~. D. B. & N.~ except that no collecting
line exists between said facilities and a proper point of connec-
tion in the sewage system of said City~ and
V~HEREAS, the County of Kern desires to secure sewage disposal
for the building being constructed by it on the aforementioned
property at the corner of California and Owens Street and said
School District desires to secure sewage disposal for a public
school being erected on Potomac Street between King and Owens
Streets~ on said property immediately south of said County building~
and said City desires to construct a line, from its line along
its City limit on California Avenue, running South on Owens
Street from California to Brundage, for the purpose of more
adea~ately conveying sewage in said City collection system from
area serviced by said line on California Avenue~ to its sewage
disposal plant South of said Brundage Lane, and
¥rHEREAS, the County of Kern~ and the Bakersfield City School Dis-
trict desire to enter into a joint pro~ect of said sewer connections
aforementioned~ and have offered to enter into an agree.ment with
City providing for the joint construction of a sewer line, and
it will be for the interest and advantage of the City of Bakersfield
to enter into such an agreement.
NOW, THEREF0~E~ BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield~ that the Nayor is hereby authorized and directed to
execute such proposed agreement on behalf of the City of Bakersfield.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 27th day of Narch~ 1950, by the fol-
lowing vote:
