S-50 OPPOSING THE REMOVAL OF CALIFORNIA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE FROM TEHACHAPI WHEREAS, there is general city and county wide support by citizens, civic and labor organizations, women's.clubs and fraternal groups for an organized state program and action against the removal of the California Women's Institute from Tehachapi, and WHEREAS, this council in the interest of a consistent policy of economy in all kinds of government costs, believes after reviewing the facts, that an opportunity for conservation of public funds has been presented for which all interested persons should take advantage and support, therefore, be it, RESOLVED: that in recognition of the sincerity and efforts of so many people here and over the State of California, that the Bakersfield City Council be of record, approving, supporting and endorsing such a movement, in tax conservation, and that the press, radio and proper public officials be informed and invited to take steps which may result in a great savings of tax funds needed to alleviate the demands of helpless inmates of other State of California institutions. .... 000 ..........
