RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF B.MGERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING
THAT THE PUBLIC .INTEREST .AND i~ECESSITY
DEMAND THE .ACQUISITION .AND CONSTRUCTION
OF .A CERTAIN MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT .AND
MiKING FINDINGS REL.ATING THERETO.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield,
California, DOES EREBY RESOLVE ~AND DETEP~INE as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and neces--

sity demand the acquisition and construction by the City
of Bakersfield of a certain municipal improvement, to wit:
an overpass for vehicle and pedestrian traffic over the
right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company and
connecting Sonora Street with .Alta Vista Drive, including
the acquisition of all land, rights of way, and other
property necessary therefor.
Section 2. 'That said municipal improvement is
necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, pur-
poses and powers of the City of Bakersfield.
Section 3- That the estimated cost of said
municip.al improvement is the sum of seven htu~dred forty-two
thousand eight hundred twelve dollars ($742,812.00) and that
said cost is and will be too great to be paid out of the
ordinary annual income and' revenue of said city. That bonds
of the City of Bakersfield in the principal sum of six hundred
thousand dollars ($600,000.00) are proposed to be issued to
pay part of the cost of said municipal improvement, and that
said sum of six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000.00) also
is and will be toO'great to be paid out of the ordinary annual
income and revenue of said city.
.ADOPTED, SIGNED .AND APPROVED this 30th day of
August, 1948.
