HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 9-48RESOLUTION NO. 9-48 ~HEREAS, the existence of an informed and active electorate is a fundamental necessity to the furtherance of our democratic system of government, and WHEREAS, the BAKERSFIELD TWENTY-THIRTY CLUB has been most active in encouraging every qualified elector in this community to register, and in furnishing personnel and facilities for the registration of voters in the City of Bakersfield, and V~P~EAS, said BAilERSFIELD TWENTY-THIRTY CLUB, through its efforts and its educational campaign, has contributed substantially to the largest registration of voters in the history of this com- munity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby commends the BAKERSFIELD TWENTY-THIRTY CLUB for its public spirited action in encouraging and promoting the registration of such a large percentage of the qualified voters of this community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the B+AKERSFIELD TWENTY-THIRTY CLUB as an expression of appreciation of this Council and the citizens of this community. ......... o0o .........
