WHERE&S, there have been filed and recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of Kern County, California, on the dates
hereinafter mentioned~ maps of the City of Bakersfield and of
Tract No. 1009 in said City, which maps show certain public streets
and alleys within the boundaries hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it appears that said public streets and alleys have
not been accepted by user iby the public, formal action of the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, or otherwise~ nor have said streets
been maintained as such by the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, a question has arisen as to whether the City of Bakers-
field or the public have any right, title and interest in and to
said public streets and alleys.
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, that no' public streets or alleys shown upon the maps
of the City of Bakersfield filed November 18, 1898, in Nap Book l,
pages 13 and 14, and.April 19, 1904, in Nap Book l, page 13, and
of Tract No..1009 in the City of Bakersfield recorded November 1%,
193~, in Lap Book 4, pages 56, 57 and 58, in the office of the
County Recorder of Kern County~ California, within the following
described' boundaries are in user nor has any offer to dedicate the
same been accepted~ and the City of Bakersfield does' hereby disclaim
any right, title or interest in and to said public streets and
alleys or any of them:
Commencing .at the point of intersection of the City Limits
of the City of Bakersfield with the east line of the' Stine
Canal extension right of way; thence proceeding southwesterly
along said east line to its point of intersection with the
north line of 24th Street; thence east along the 'north line
of 24th Street. to the southwest corner of Lot 16 of Block
470-C; thence north along the west line of Lot 16 to the
south line of the alley shown extending through said block;
thence east to the west line of "B" Street; thence north to
· the south line of 25th Street; thence east along the south
line of 2~th Street to the northwest corner of Block 120;
thence north along the east line of "D" Street to the
south line of 26th Street; thence east?along the south
line of 26th Street to the west line of "G" Street; thence
north along the west line of "G" Street to-the north line
of 27th Street, being the southeast corner of Block 518;
thence along the north line of 27th Street to the east line
of "H"; thence north and northeaste~rly along the east line
of "H, Street to its point of intersection with the south-
westerly line of the Southern. Pacific Right of Way; thence
northwesterly along the southerly line of said right of way
to the north boundary line of'the City Limits of the City
of Bakersfield; thence west along said line to the point
of beginning of this description.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that. the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 1st day of December, 1947, by the
following vote:
