1. WEEAS the State of California under Chapter 47, Statutes of
lq44, (4th ~xtra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the
I~rector of Finance to rovide ~inahcial assistance to local Agencies
defined therein as co~n{ies, cities or cities and counties for the
purpose of defraylug not to exceed one-half the cost of p. reparing
engineerin field surveys, engineering' or architectural ~eslgns, and
,w, orkin~ an~ detai led drawings 'and Speci ficati ons ( hereinafte~ cal led
,,Plans ) required for postwar oublic works projects described as
specific projects" in' saiS_ Act; and
2. EREAS, the CITY Ow BAEERS~IELD hereinafter designated as
"Local Agenc," desires to apply to ~he Director of Finance and/or
the Post~ar ~6.blic Wor,ks Revfew Board, as the case may be, for an
allotment of the State s share of the estimated cost of preparin the
completed plans hereinafter mentioned and there has been prepare~ and
presented to this Legislative Body for consideration an application
for such purp. ose; and .
3. WHEREAS, Local Agency has provided or will make available upon
aDD oval of the aforementioned apDlica[ion, sufficient funds to pre-

pare the completed plans herein mentioned;
4. NOW THEEFOE BE IT RESOLVED that the Local A en submit the
af res~id ~plication to the Director of Finance and~orc{he Postwar
Puglic Works" Review Board, as the case may e, req_ue ring allotment
of Two Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars (~2 250.00~, being not more
than one-half the cost of re aring said completed plans, or for such
amount as ma be _apDroved gy ~he Director of Finance andFor the ost-
war Public ~orks ReView Board (said allotment to be used for the pur-
pose of defraying the cost of preparing said completed plans required)
for a s ecific ro~iect to be undertaken by local agency and described '
as: SEW~I TREAT~ PLAhF~' ADDITION.
5. BE IT FURTHER RESOI,VED, that the estimate cost of preparin such
plans is Four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars (!,5OO.OO) and tha~ Local
]%gency has made rovision for paying one-half or more of the cost of
preparing such pFans.,
6. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the pur oses of this _application,
J. HOLFELDER, City Engineer, Room 17, City ~Pall, Bakersfield, Cali-
fornia be snd he hereby is designated as the authorized agent of
Local lgency and is here authorized stud directed to sign the above-
mentioned application on~ehal~ of the Local A ency and submit the
same to the Director of Finance and/or the Postwar Public Works
Review Board together with a certified statement of the estimated
cost of preparing such plans and such other information as may be re-
quired; and said authorized a ent is further authorized and directed
as the representative of Loci~ Agency, to conduct all ne otiations
and conclude all arrangements, including submission to t~e Director
of Finance of applications for reimbu,rsement, which may be necessary
to secure reimb~/rsement for the State s share of the exp. enditures
made in preparing said completed plans.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by tie Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof held on the ,~Q day of March, 1947, by the follow-
ing vote:
