V~EEREAS, the County of Kern has a qualified Health Officer and
a Department of Public Health with adequate facilities to perform
any and all functions pertaining to the enforcement within the City
of Bakersfield of orders~ quarantine regulations, and rules prescribed
by the State Department of Public Health, and statutes relating to
the public health, and
WHEREAS, under Sections 476 and 477 of the Health and Safety
Code of the State of California, the Health Officer of the County of
Kern is authorized, empowered and directed to enforce and observe
such orders, quarantine regulations, rules and statutes in the City
of Bakersfield when this Council consents in the manner and form
therein prescribed, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield finds that the
health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Bakersfield can best
be served by the enforcement and observance of the aforementioned
orders, quarantine regulations, rules and statutes, in the City of
Bakersfield by the Health Officer of the County of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of
Bakersfield does hereby consent that the Health Officer of the County
of Kern shall enforce and observe in the City of Bakersfield~ all of
the following:
(a) Orders, quarantine regulations, and rules prescribed by
the State Department of Public Health.
(b) Statutes of the State of California relating to the public
health.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield~
at a regular meeting thereof held on the ~O day of February,
1947, by the following vote:
