V~EE~-IS, there is an indicated need for a storm drain
system to serve Gre~ter Bakersfie!d~ which need becomes increasingly
urgent with urban development, and
VEE!S, the best interests of both the City and County
would be served by a joint project for design and construction of
the said. storm drains, and
UEREiS, State funds have been made available to cities and
counties for the design of i~ub!ic ~.Vorks Projects under Chapter
Statutes of 1944 (~.-th Extra Session) ~ and which funds are available
to the City and CouDty on a matching basis;
N0!V~ TtIEREFO,'RE~ BE IT RESOLVE. D~ that the City Engineer be
and he is hereby ordered and directed to prepare, in cooperation
~,~ith the County Surveyor~ a joint project statement for the design
of a storm drain system for Greater Bakersfieldo

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the' City of Bakersfield at a
