WHEREAS the Union Cemetery. has, in the passage of time
become Bakersf icicles historic cemetery; and
WHEREAS the upkeep of said' cemetery is financed by
assessments and contributions from those who
own plots in said Cemetery; and
WHEREAS the greater portio~ ef said cemetery is not
properly kept in sightly condition because
owner legatees and families have either ended
or removed beyond contact;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ~hat the governing body of
Union Cemetery Association be petttioned tO
take steps to place all of said cemetery in
perpetual care; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that'a careful census check be
made of all intemnents in said cemetery so tha~
its records be made as complete as possible.

BE IT ALSO F~RTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution
be sent to the Oounty Board Of Supervisors, the
Bakersfield. City Council, the Bakersfield Chamber
Of COmmerce, the Kern County Labor Council and to
all fraternal organizations.
